Day 2 of our trip was on the 28th of July, a Thursday. We went into Corpus Christi and went to a small store. The parking lot of the store was a typical sunbelt parking lot but with palm trees, something you don't see in North Texas. Even something small can give a nice 'we're on vacation' feel. Lunch was next at a small authentic Mexican place followed by a stop in two malls (one of them being Sunrise) across the street from each other. After that, it was off to the largest Whataburger in the world. As ridiculous as it is, I enjoyed it alot. The second floor had an outdoor patio which had a nice view of downtown Corpus Christi. As with any Whataburger, it was very crowded. We saw downtown Corpus Christi which was surprisingly really nice. There where a lot of beautiful mansions along the bay and the landscaping was nice. We journyed by the U.S.S. Lexington, took a ferry to Mustang Island and finally had dinner at Chicago Style Pizza (http://www.portaransaspizza.com/) in Port Aransas. The owner/manager was very nice and was quick to provide plates (it is mainly carryout/delivery), napkins, forks, ect. If you go to Port Aransas, stop by! That about wraps up day two.
