After we spent some time at Bonham St. Park we went to Texas Star BBQ which was good. We then walked around downtown Bonham and I snapped some photographs. The downtown was pretty and it reminded me of so many other Great Plains and Middle America downtowns. It reminded me of Ponca City, OK; Norman, OK; Ardmore, OK; Pauls Valley, OK (Home of the Toy and Action Figure Museum); and so many other great cities. It was a highlight of the day trip for me. Then, a brief hour or two drive through the peaceful countryside back to the madness of DFW. As we rode Stacy Road in Fairview/Allen past a new In N Out burger, I felt kind of sad and depressed to be leaving the quite. The In'N'Out had hundreds of people lined up outside the restraunt and it looked like a madhouse. Our dinner a few hours before had been quite and serene to say the least.
Fun day overall, nothing spectacular, but a cool daytrip.
